ABOUT OUR MINISTRY
A PLACE WHERE MUSIC OPENS THE GATEWAY TO YOUR SOUL
This ministry’s mission is to present the undiluted, untainted gospel of Jesus Christ through music, and solid and profound teaching and preaching of the word. The aim of this ministry is to help win souls for the kingdom of God and to spread His word to the four corners of the world to let people that need to know that Jesus Christ is real, he is the truth, the light and the only way to salvation. This ministry believes that music is a great tool to use to minister the gospel to non- believers and also to encourage and uplift Christians and through this we hope to encourage, inspire and uplift souls for the furtherance of the Kingdom.
DJ ROBERT’S BIOGRAPHY
Robert Samuels aka ‘Dj Robert’ was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica on September 18, 1985. He grew up in Sellington, St. Elizabeth with his grandparents, and attended the Brompton Primary where he was a member of the school choir. He also took part in sporting activities such as cricket, football and his all-time favorite ‘Track & Field’. After being successful in the Common Entrance Examinations, he then moved on to the Black River High School. Robert was not saved at an early age, but he had to attend church every Sunday with his grandparents, mother or father. Robert, from a tender age loved music and could always be seen taping music on cassettes to clash with his other friends. He started playing on a musical sound called ‘Body Lover’ which was owned and operated by his uncle-in-law and would travel with him on numerous occasions to various places to help out the setting up of the equipment.
In 1998 at the age of fourteen, Robert moved to Vineyard Town in Kingston, where he started attending Galilee Gospel Hall after being invited by his neighbor affectionately called auntie Jackie. He began attending Sunday School, Boys’ Club and Youth Meetings very regularly, and in July 2002 at South Eastern Youth Arm (SEYA) Camp he gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized in October of that year. He was brought into fellowship shortly after and became very active in the Assembly, becoming a member of the ushers’ committee and later on Head Usher, Junior Counselor for Boys’ Club and Committee Member of the Men’s Fellowship. Due to Robert’s overwhelming love for music he began helping out on ABC Gospel Sound owned and operated by his friend & church brother Garth Riley, and would often play at sporting events such as SEYA Sports Day, church functions and weddings.
In 2005 Robert met and became friends with Lorlaine, a young lady he met at SEYA Camp, and after three years of great friendship they got married in July 2008. In early 2009 Robert left Jamaica to take up employment in the Cayman Islands. There he met and became good friends with Christophel Stewart, and with both their love for music and their zeal for winning souls, started an online radio ministry called Prosperity FM in August 2010. Since becoming one of the Directors/DJ of the radio ministry, he has partnered with and has played on numerous radio stations and ministries such as Love Gospel Station 90.1 FM (Bronx New York), ATL PRAISE HOUSE (ATL), Bro Davon Ministries (Bronx New York), GL365Radio (Texas), The Voice 97.7 FM (Grand Cayman), The Omega Church Broadcasting Network 103.9 FM (PB&TTC FL) & 101.9 FM (Ft LBC FL).
In 2012 Robert won the award for ”International Radio Personality of the Year”, and in 2014 the awards for “Disk Jockey of the Year” and “Best International Gospel Program” in The Love Gospel Station International Gospel Awards. In March 2014 Robert with the support of his wife Lorlaine launched his very own radio ministry DJ Robert Ministries with the sole aim of bringing the undiluted gospel of Jesus Christ to people all over the world by the spoken word and heartfelt gospel music. He hosts the programs “Praise Without Limit” which is aired on Sundays 5pm – 8pm. In March 2015, Robert won “Best On Air Personality” at the Gospel Xplosion Awards in the UK, and has again been nominated for “Disk Jockey of the Year 2015”. Robert is passionate about ministry and ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ whenever and wherever he goes; he bases his live on Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” as he strives to become the man that God wants him to be. To God be the Glory.
